The Tricorn Heart
The idea
As I was going to the theatre, I wanted to have a smaller silhouette, to avoid being That Guy.
I was playing with ways to make the tricorn more interesting; different from what people had seen before or were expecting.
Eventually, after doing a lot of scrolling through pinterest, I decided to round out the sides of it, to create a heart shape when seen from above.
This subtle change created a really beautiful look, which was extremely popular at fashion week in Spring 2026.

I was going to The Met’s under 40 party for Don Giovanni, and I wanted to make a hat for it.
I began by googling “Don Giovanni” and came across posters from the movie from the 70s. The costumes were so striking, especially the silhouette of the tricorn hats they were wearing.
